It’s hot here in Massachusetts and the heat seems to have found a home. It’s not the heat so much as the humidity that is making some of us cranky. I personally want a good deep freeze to clear the air but I’m one of only a few who feels that way.
Baseball season is in full swing and my team is at the top of the standings. It makes me pine for the days when I was writing Thrown for a Curve. I’ve got a series planned around the fictional Boston Greenliners, involving Izabella’s brother Eduardo, a veteran third baseman, a catcher and a closer and although the stories are itching for release, the plots are stored in my head as I finish up Fire and Ice.
Sports series are big today and there’s a plethora of them on the market. If you’re into hockey you might want to pick up Sabrina Bowen’s Brooklyn Bruisers series. I binged on them over a few days and loved her characters. Susan Elizabeth Phillips has her Chicago Stars football series and her quirky characters never fail to entertain.
I’ve fallen back into J. D. Robb’s Death series and should be finished soon. Nora Roberts is a master storyteller and I am in love with Eve and Rourke’s relationship.
If you have a favorite author, let me know. It doesn’t have to be romance, just someone who tells a good story, develops their characters and leaves you wanting more.
